Ear coning (or candling) is a relaxing, non-invasive procedure for removing excess wax and toxins from your ears and eustachian tubes. During treatment, a hollow candle is placed in the ear canal. Then the wick is lit and the candle is allowed burn.

After the procedure is over, the fabric candle is removed and you will be able to see all of the ear wax, debris and bacteria that was removed. Ear candling has been known to help with headaches, sinus infections, tinnitus, and vertigo. Use the button below or give us a call at (603) 742-1980 to schedule your appointment.

Frequently asked questions

How does ear candling work?
The flame from the hollow candle creates negative pressure, drawing wax and debris out of your ear canal. The wax and debris appears as a dark residue.

What are the cones/candles made of?
The ear cones/candles are made of strips of unbleached cotton that are dipped in a mixture of beeswax infused with rose oil. They look similar to cotton candy cones and are 8-12 inches long.

How frequently should coning be done?
For your own health and safety, we recommend 3 conings, 3-7 days apart. We suggest coning in groups of 3 until you feel completely refreshed. Once you establish a healthy relationship with your ears, you may have them cleaned 2-3 times per year.

Ear piercing using Blomdahl’s medical grade plastic or titanium earrings, for those who may have allergies.

Frequently asked questions

What is medical ear piercing?
This form of piercing is performed by someone with a medical background. Our staff has received special training in piercing and we know how to help avoid the risk of infection and other issues that occur with pediatric piercing. Lobe damage and inaccurate placement will be avoided. Additionally, we use Blomdahl’s medical grade titanium or plastic earrings, which helps to avoid any allergic reactions.

Why are medical plastic and titanium earrings used?
Medical plastic does not contain nickel, ensuring zero nickel exposure and eliminating the risk of developing nickel allergy. Medical grade titanium is the safest of all metals because it binds little amounts of nickel very well. This prevents nickel from being released into the skin and underlying tissue. Titanium is accepted extremely well by the body and is used in implants and other medical applications.

How long does it take for earring holes to become permanent?
In most cases, you will need to leave earrings in for 4-6 weeks after you get your ears pierced. You will need to wait for your ears to completely heal. If you remove earrings before then, the holes could close up and you will need to have them pierced again.
